Ferrybridge is the point at which the Fleet joins Portland Harbour. The bridge was originally located several hundred metres north of its present position but the channel was realigned and the present bridge constructed in the 1970's.

  The creek

The creek at the southern tip of the Fleet, looking north-west up the Fleet. There is a small lagoon between the car park and Chesil Beach which fills with water at high tide. The Creek links this lagoon with the Fleet. It runs past the Visitors Centre

  Fleet

The Fleet during a major storm.
Although very sheltered, the Fleet can get very rough under storm conditions. The spray coming over the beach obscures the fisherman's huts.
