Chickerell BioAcoustics is a consultancy which started in Chickerell, Dorset, but is now based in Portesham, Dorset, UK. The main area of expertise is marine bioacoustics with expertise in the way that organisms ranging from plankton to mysticetes make and use sound and in the impact that loud sounds have on these organisms. Associated with this is expertise in the characterisation of underwater ambient noise.
Recent work has included characterising the ambient noise from a number of sites around the UK and characterising the noise radiated from wave generation devices.
